About Us

Benners Hotel Tralee has welcomed Guests to Castle Street for over 150 years and its existence today is a testament to the great contribution of the very many people who managed to keep the establishment at the forefront of the Hospitality Industry in Kerry. In the late 1800’s there were 3 Hotels operating on the site of the present Benners Hotel. These were The Hibernian, The Ashbourne & The Blennerhassett Arms. The Hibernian was owned by Mr Pat O’Sullivan & Family who was the Great Great Grandfather of the present owner Mr Der O’Sullivan.

In the course of time the 3 Hotels were amalgamated into one & became known as Benners Hotel.

Over the next few decades Benners Hotel thrived under the expertise & watchful eye of great people like Mol Johnson, John & Aileen O’Callaghan to mention but a few.

In the early 1990’s Benners was acquired by the famous Ennis Hotel Family, the Lynes, who knocked it to the ground & rebuilt it to a very high standard making it fit for purpose for the next century.

In recent times Benners Hotel was acquired by the O’Sullivan Family & so history repeats itself all be it after a lapse of 100 years. The O’Sullivan family & their highly motivated skilled staff are committed to the high standards that Benners hotel have provided over the 150 years.
